During my stroll in Magnuson Park today, I chanced upon the delightful Salmonberry, a familiar sight to many. These berries are some of the first to ripen, and it's a relief to know they're edible. The fully-grown salmonberries are soft and carry a blend of tartness and sweetness akin to raspberries, presenting in hues of red or yellow. They're commonly transformed into delectable jams and confections.
The flowers are particularly enchanting; their vivid hues are a feast for the eyes. One such bloom stood out dramatically as I meandered along the pathways adjacent to the area known as Promontory Ponds, nestled on the park's southern end.
